Frequently asked
questions.
Everything people ask before and after switching to ZEDFINITY. If your question is not here, ask directly — contact details are at the bottom.
Is ZEDFINITY really free?
Yes. ZEDFINITY is free to download and use with no subscription, no account and no feature paywall. The project is funded by donations — TON (Gram) and USDT on the TON blockchain.
Where are my files actually stored?
In your own Telegram cloud — the storage attached to your own Telegram account. ZEDFINITY has no servers of its own. Your files remain subject to Telegram's availability and terms of service.
Is my storage really unlimited?
Yes for practical purposes. Telegram cloud storage has no meaningful cap, so ZEDFINITY has none either. The app draws its usage ring against 100 TB to make the point: you will fill a sliver of it in a lifetime.
Can anyone read my files?
With Vault encryption on, no. Files are encrypted on your device before upload, and the keys never leave your device. The stored bytes are unreadable without them. Vault uses XChaCha20-Poly1305 authenticated encryption from libsodium.
Do I need a ZEDFINITY account?
No. There is no ZEDFINITY account and no ZEDFINITY server. You sign in with your own Telegram account — by phone code or by scanning a QR code from the official Telegram app.
Does it work on Android and Windows?
Yes. ZEDFINITY ships as a native Android app and a native Windows application with the same design and workflow. Your library is per-platform today — each device manages its own view of your cloud.
Will it run on my phone?
The app runs on modern Android phones, including devices without Google services such as Huawei and HarmonyOS — it uses no Google services at all. It supports 64-bit and 32-bit devices.
What happens if ZEDFINITY disappears tomorrow?
Nothing happens to your files. They are stored in your own cloud, not on ZEDFINITY servers. That is the core of the design: the app is a window onto storage that belongs to you.
Will auto-backup create duplicates?
No — auto-backup recognizes what is already backed up and skips it, and failed uploads are retried automatically. One honest caveat: a file that was re-downloaded under a changed name (like "photo (1).jpg") may be treated as new and upload again. See the auto-backup guide for details.
I cleared app data / reinstalled. Did I lose my files?
Your cloud files are untouched. Clearing data removes only the local index, which rebuilds itself from your cloud when you sign in again. Tip: after clearing data, wait until your full library is visible before re-enabling auto-backup, so everything is recognized as already backed up.
How large can a single file be?
Large files are split into parts and reassembled automatically when you download or open them, so size is not a practical limit. Very large items show a parts badge in your library.
Does ZEDFINITY see my files?
No. There is no ZEDFINITY server, no ZEDFINITY database and no ZEDFINITY account. The app on your device talks directly to your own cloud. With Vault on, even the stored bytes are unreadable without your device.
Is ZEDFINITY affiliated with Telegram?
No. ZEDFINITY is an independent, unofficial Telegram client and is not affiliated with Telegram FZ-LLC. It does not replace the official Telegram apps — it builds a private cloud layer on top of your own account.
Why does the app need photo permissions?
Only for auto-backup: the scanner reads your device media index to find photos and videos that are not backed up yet. Nothing is read before you enable the feature, and nothing leaves your device except files that are being backed up (encrypted, if Vault is on).
How is the project funded?
By donations. If ZEDFINITY is useful to you, the support section accepts TON (Gram) and USDT (TON jetton) on the TON blockchain.
